Dembele Dropped From PSG Squad Against Arsenal Champions League Match

France forward Ousmane Dembélé has been left out of Paris Saint-Germain’s squad for their Champions League showdown against Arsenal on Tuesday, October 1, a source close to the club confirmed to AFP.

The omission of Dembélé is reportedly not due to injury but is a decision made by head coach Luis Enrique, possibly as a disciplinary measure. According to L’Équipe, the move follows a heated exchange between the player and the coach after PSG’s 3-1 win over Rennes in Ligue 1 last Friday.Dembélé, who has been in impressive form this season with four goals and four assists in six league matches, will be a notable absentee for PSG. Without him, the team will rely more heavily on Bradley Barcola, currently the top scorer in Ligue 1 with six goals, two of which were scored against Rennes.

PSG’s attacking options may be further limited as Marco Asensio is racing to recover from an injury sustained in their Champions League opener against Girona two weeks ago. The match against Arsenal is crucial for the French champions as they aim to strengthen their position in the group stage.
