Unidentified gunmen targeted polling units situated at All Saints Anglican Cathedral, assaulting individuals involved in vote buying and seizing a sum exceeding N1.5 million. The assailants, numbering more than 10, forcefully took the money being distributed to voters across four polling units within the cathedral precinct.
Eyewitnesses reported that the gunmen arrived at the location, initiating sporadic gunfire before robbing three men who were dispensing the funds. Amidst the ongoing shooting, some police officers stationed at the site fled, and INEC officials present at the scene took cover as the gunmen executed their attack.
