In the Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, bandits have kidnapped 30 villagers from Unguwar Liman in the Gwada community. The bandits launched an invasion into the community on Sunday night, December 10, 2023, at around 11 pm, firing shots indiscriminately.
According to residents who spoke with Daily Trust, the victims encompassed housewives and children below the age of 2. Malam Jafar Anaba, a resident and community leader, reported on Monday night that his biological brother and other relatives were among those abducted.
As of the time of reporting, the abductors had not established contact with the families of the victims. Anaba explained, “They (bandits) entered the community and seized their victims, numbering about 30. My biological brother and other relatives were among those abducted on Sunday night.”
He further revealed that residents attempted to seek assistance on the night of the attack and the following morning, but there was no telecommunications network available at that time.
