In Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, a protest turned violent on Saturday, resulting in one death and two hospitalizations.
The incident occurred in the Apata area, a day after protests took place in various parts of the city, including Agodi Gate, Iwo Road, Monatan, Olodo, and Iyana Church, over the scarcity of new naira notes and gasoline.
The fatal victim was reportedly a commercial motorcyclist.
Normalcy has since returned to the area. Efforts to obtain a statement from the Oyo State police command were unsuccessful.
