REMOVE MRS OLAYINKA ABDULWAHAB NOW OR NSLC WILL LOCK UP NYSC ORIENTATION CAMP OF NIGER STATE

Share

We are writing to bring to your attention a grave and disturbing incident that occurred at the NYSC camp in Niger State, where the State Coordinator, (Mrs Olayinka Abdulwahab), deployed soldiers to brutalize innocent Polytechnic and University students at the camp entrance.
The students were initially informed that they would be posted to a different batch, only to later receive their call-up letters late, resulting in their delayed arrival. This is a clear case of NYSC’s administrative failure, and yet, the students were punished for the organization’s mistake.
This egregious act is a clear violation of human rights and an abuse of power. The Southwestern students, who were peacefully assembled, were subjected to physical assault, harassment, and intimidation by the soldiers.
The actions of the State Coordinator are unacceptable and warrant immediate removal from office. I urge you to take the following steps:
1. Remove the Niger State Coordinator, [Name], from office for her role in authorizing this brutality.
2. Launch an investigation into the incident and hold all perpetrators accountable.
3. Provide medical attention and support to the affected students.
4. Take concrete measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
5. Review and rectify the administrative failures that led to the students’ delayed arrival.
The Federal Government must take responsibility for the actions of its agents and ensure that those in leadership positions uphold the values of justice, compassion, and accountability.
I request a prompt response regarding the actions you will take to address this situation.

Dist. Senator Popoola Idris Kolawole
NSLC SOUTHWEST COORDINATOR
