The Niger State Police Command has arrested a 17-year-old boy for robbing a POS attendant in Minna.
The spokesperson of the command, SP Wasiu Abiodun, who disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, said the suspect, Wisdom Danjuma, went to a POS shop, pulled out a long sharp knife, intimidated the attendant and robbed her of N100,000.
“On 13/09/2024 at about 1410hrs, a distress call was received at Bosso Div that a female POS attendant at Lawu Estate, Bosso Low-Cost area, Minna was robbed by a miscreant/suspected armed robber in her shop,” the statement read.“As the report was received, the Police operatives of the Div with the combined effort of the community members, led to the arrest of one Wisdom Danjuma, 17yrs of Jikpan area of Bosso in connection to the crime.“Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect criminally trespassed to the POS shop, pulled out a long sharp knife, intimidated the attendant and robbed her of the sum of one hundred thousand naira.“Consequently, the victim raised an alarm, while the suspect took to his heels, but the community members and the Police patrol team chased him until he was arrested.“The knife and the said money were recovered from him, and he confessed that he was sent by two other members of his gang. Meanwhile, the investigation is ongoing to arrest the fleeing members.”
