A 32-year-old man named Daniel Udoh has been ordered by a Family Court sitting at Oke-Eda in Akure, Ondo State, to be remanded in the Olokuta Correctional Centre. The court made this decision in response to charges of sexual abuse and exploitation involving a 3-year-old girl.
Residing at No. 5, Alayere Community, Oda Road area of Akure, Udoh was charged with one count of sexual abuse. Prosecuting police officer Martins Olowofeso informed the court that the defendant committed the offenses on June 12, 2023, at around 5:00 PM.
Allegedly, Udoh sexually abused and exploited the 3-year-old minor (identity withheld) within his residence. Olowofeso stated that the defendant enticed the victim into his room, where he engaged in unlawful acts against her.
“The victim’s mother, upon hearing her daughter crying, rushed to the scene and discovered the defendant molesting the little girl,” the prosecutor revealed.
According to the prosecutor, these actions contravene Section 32(a) of the Child’s Rights Law of Ondo State, 2006.
