Renowned Hausa actor, Samanja, passes away at the age of 84.

Veteran Hausa drama actor, Usman Baba Pategi, popularly known as Samanja, has passed away. According to a statement from one of his sons, Mohammad Usman, the actor succumbed to a prolonged illness in the early hours of Sunday, November 12, at a private hospital in Kaduna State. The late Kannywood actor, who served in the Nigerian Army before retiring to work for the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) in Kaduna, was 84 years old. He is survived by two wives and twelve children. The funeral prayer will take place at the Kabala Costain mosque in the Kaduna metropolis, following Islamic traditions. May his soul rest in peace.
