A family in Nakuru, Kenya is grieving the loss of their quintuplets, who were delivered at the Nakuru Level 5 Hospital on February 1st. According to Dr. Aisha Maina, the hospital’s superintendent, all five babies passed away the following morning. Bahati Member of Parliament, Irene Njoki, visited the parents and confirmed the news, expressing her condolences with the words “Rest in Peace to the five angels.”
The children were born prematurely, weighing only 500 grams, and were placed in incubation by the hospital’s medical team. The father, Simon Ndung’u, a matatu tout, was shocked to learn that his wife was expecting five children instead of the three that were indicated on the pre-natal scans. Despite his plea for financial assistance, the family is facing a difficult road ahead.
Njoki, along with others who visited the couple at the hospital, brought basic essentials to support the family. The loss of the quintuplets is a tragedy, and the parents are in our thoughts during this difficult time.
