The Jigawa State Police Command has apprehended a suspected thief who assaulted a woman and stole her phone, worth N20,000, in the Jahun Local Government Area of the state.
ASP Abubakar Isah, the Deputy Public Relations Officer of the command, revealed this information in a statement issued on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, following a distress call made by the victim.
According to the statement, the incident occurred on September 22, 2023, at approximately 4:00 AM when an unidentified individual unlawfully entered the residence of a 30-year-old woman named Halima Yau. The assailant wielded a knife during the intrusion, resulting in injuries to the victim’s face and back. Furthermore, the perpetrator made off with her Tecno phone, valued at N20,000.
Upon receiving the distress call from Kadoma village in Jahun LGA, law enforcement swiftly dispatched a team of officers to the scene. There, they successfully apprehended the suspect and recovered the stolen phone.
During questioning, the suspect admitted to committing the crime.
