Abdullahi Sabo, a resident of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, has been kidnapped. According to DailyTrust, Sabo and his wife were on their way home when unidentified gunmen intercepted their vehicle at Sabon-Lugbe on the Airport road in the nation’s capital.
The victim was driving a Lexus SUV with the registration number ABC 769 TP when the incident occurred. Witnesses reported that the attackers, traveling in an unmarked Golf car, opened fire and punctured the SUV’s tires.
Daramola Joseph, a neighbor of the victim, confirmed the incident, stating, “They shot the tires, forcing the vehicle to stop, but before they could approach the jeep, the man’s wife had managed to escape. However, they took away the husband. The couple was returning from the city center and heading towards the access road to Jedo Estate when the gunmen struck.”
This incident follows a recent event where gunmen invaded Army Estate in Kurudu, still within Abuja, and abducted residents, occurring less than 48 hours prior. Despite concerns, Minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike, assured residents of their safety during townhall meetings in Bwari and Gwagwalada Area Councils, mentioning enhanced security measures and the arrest of some bandits and their collaborators.
As of now, the FCT police command has not issued a statement regarding this latest abduction.
