Super Eagles goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has been honored as Africa’s best at the CAF Awards. The Paris FC standout triumphed over her counterparts, Moroccan goalkeeper Khadija El-Rmichi and South Africa’s Andile Olaminii, securing the award on Monday, December 11. Nnadozie showcased her exceptional skills during the Women’s World Cup match against Canada, making three crucial saves, including stopping a penalty from Christine Sinclair in the 50th minute, resulting in a goalless draw.

Her standout performance earned her the Player of the Match award and garnered international acclaim. In her acceptance speech, the 23-year-old expressed gratitude, saying, “I just want to use this great opportunity to say a very great thank you to the organizers and also for remembering the female goalkeeper this year.”

Nnadozie extended her appreciation to the Nigerian football president for his contributions to the Nigerian league and female football, emphasizing her roots in Nigerian female football. She also thanked her club, Paris FC, for their support and expressed gratitude to everyone who voted for and nominated her.
