The family of Goddey Ibama, a 64-year-old security officer, has reported him missing. He left their residence in Egbeda, Lagos state on Wednesday, May 24, and has not returned since. In an interview his wife, Maryam Ibama, revealed that her husband, who hails from Rivers state and suffers from stroke, was laid off from work in January 2023. On May 24, he left home at 7 am to visit his former office and inquire about the promised token following his termination. Unfortunately, he did not take a phone with him as his previous one was faulty.
Mrs. Ibama stated that their attempts to locate him have been unsuccessful thus far. She has already reported the matter to the police in Ikeja. Additionally, she recounted an incident involving a pastor who claimed he could divine the whereabouts of her missing husband. The pastor requested a sum of Thirty Thousand Naira and asked her to attend his night vigil, where he claimed God would reveal the exact location of her husband. Mrs. Ibama paid the money and attended the vigil with her daughter. However, the pastor informed them that her husband was at another woman’s house. In response, her daughter confronted the pastor, threatening to expose him on social media if he didn’t refund the money. Consequently, the pastor reluctantly returned the money.
Mrs. Ibama urges anyone with relevant information to contact the nearest police station or reach out via the following phone numbers: 08060237891 or 08081932888.
