Umar Mohammed, a 35-year-old health worker at a private clinic in Minna, Niger State, was fatally stabbed by hoodlums in the Gbeganu area. The incident occurred while he was returning home after attending to a patient, encountering a brawl among hoodlums armed with dangerous weapons. The altercation, which erupted during a wedding reception, has heightened concerns about the disruption of peace in Minna, with areas like Kpakungu, Maitumbi, Fadikpe, Gbeganu, and others being affected. SP Wasiu Abiodun, the spokesperson for the State Police Command, confirmed the incident, stating that Umar Mohammed succumbed to his injuries at General Hospital Minna. Two suspects have been apprehended, and efforts are underway to arrest others involved.
