Suspected bandits have tragically taken the life of Malam Usman Sarki, the village head of Zazzaga in Munya Local Government Area of Niger State. According to an anonymous community leader who spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria, the bandits launched an assault on Zazzaga and neighboring villages on the night of Tuesday, October 10, 2023.
The source revealed that an unspecified number of farmers, including women, were also kidnapped in the attack. They reported, “The attack was carried out during the night on Tuesday. They fatally shot Malam Usman Sarki, the village head of Zazzaga, and abducted numerous others.”
“At this time, we cannot provide an exact count of the individuals they took away. Additionally, they made off with a substantial number of our cattle, goats, and sheep,” the source added.
DSP Wasiu Abiodun, the spokesperson for the State Police Command, confirmed the incident but mentioned that he was still awaiting comprehensive details regarding the alleged attack.
