The Nasarawa State Police Command has apprehended Ibrahim Isiaka for allegedly slitting the throat of a commercial motorcyclist and seizing his motorcycle in the Karu Local Government Area.

As stated in a press release issued and circulated in Lafia on Friday, April 19, by the command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel, the suspect was nabbed through the concerted efforts of police officers stationed at the Masaka division in the vicinity.

Nansel elucidated that the suspect, under the pretense of needing a ride to Bigmali along Jankanwa Road in Masaka, engaged the services of a commercial motorcyclist. However, unbeknownst to the motorcyclist, the suspect had orchestrated a plan with an accomplice to steal his motorcycle.

“While en route, the suspect wielded a knife and ruthlessly slit the throat of the commercial motorcyclist before absconding with the motorcycle, aided by the other suspect who is currently evading capture,” he explained.

Upon receiving reports of the incident, the police promptly sprang into action, swiftly transporting the victim to a medical facility to receive urgent treatment.

“The victim remains hospitalized in an undisclosed medical institution and is exhibiting positive signs of recovery. A comprehensive search operation led to the arrest of the suspect and the retrieval of the stolen motorcycle.

“The apprehended suspect is currently cooperating with the ongoing investigation, and relentless efforts are underway to apprehend the absconding accomplice. Upon the completion of the investigation, the suspect will be arraigned before a court of law,” the PPRO concluded.
