Nigerian chess champion and advocate for child education, Tunde Onakoya, has shattered the Guinness World Record (GWR) for the longest chess marathon.

In the early hours of Saturday, April 20, Tunde surpassed the previous record of 56 hours, 9 minutes, and 37 seconds set by Norwegians Hallvard Haug Flatebø and Sjur Ferkingstad on November 11, 2018.

Undeterred by his achievement, Tunde continues to play, aiming to extend the duration of his marathon without losing a single game. His ambitious objective is to raise $1,000,000 to support the transformation of the lives of underprivileged children across Africa.
