The Labour Party (LP) has reported that a fire broke out at the residence of its National Chairman, Julius Abure, on Wednesday, April 3. Additionally, the party alleges that there was an assassination attempt on Abure during the incident.
According to Obiora Ifoh, the National Publicity Secretary of the Labour Party, the fire started mysteriously a few minutes after 1 am while Abure and his family were asleep.
A member of the family recounted the incident, stating that they were awakened by neighbors and security personnel in the compound. The fire had spread to the staircase, trapping the entire family inside.
Fortunately, divine intervention intervened, allowing Abure and his family to escape. Neighbors and security personnel bravely broke down a window upstairs, creating an exit route for the family.
The Fire Service arrived shortly after the evacuation, and Abure and his family were rushed to a private hospital for treatment. As of now, their condition is stable.
