
The Kwara State Police Command has dismissed reports claiming that suspected Boko Haram members were arrested in Ilorin, the state capital.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the command’s spokesperson, Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, described the reports circulating on social media as false and misleading, stressing that no such arrests were made anywhere in the state.
The command cautioned members of the public against spreading unverified information capable of creating panic and threatening public peace and security.
Police authorities also assured residents that security agencies in Kwara State remain alert and committed to protecting lives and property across the state.
Residents were urged to remain calm and continue their normal activities without fear, while relying only on credible and official sources for security-related information.
The command further emphasized that the spread of misinformation could negatively affect ongoing efforts aimed at maintaining stability and public confidence in the state.
