Actress and filmmaker Angela Eguavoen has said she believes all men cheat, explaining that the belief serves as a form of emotional reassurance in case she discovers that a partner has been unfaithful.
Speaking in an interview with PUNCH, Eguavoen said she holds firmly to the belief despite men often responding that not every man is unfaithful.
“I strongly believe that all men cheat,” she said. “Whenever I say that, the men will say, ‘It is not all men.’”
According to the actress, the belief helps her prepare emotionally for the possibility of discovering that a partner has cheated.
“I think it is a belief I use to console myself just in case I am in a relationship and suddenly find out that the person I am dating is cheating,” she said.
Eguavoen added that although she would not retaliate or hurt a partner over infidelity, she believes a man who chooses to cheat should still be discreet and considerate toward his partner.
“I would not kill or hurt him, and I would not do anything I would regret,” she said.
“I believe all men cheat, but if you are going to cheat, do not rub it in your woman’s face. Just show her respect. That is one of the biggest forms of respect a man can offer his wife or girlfriend.”
