An individual suspected of being a recurrent thief was reportedly apprehended at the Jubril Aminu Hall of Residence, located within Usmanu Danfodio University, Sokoto. The incident occurred while students were away for Jumu’ah prayer on Friday, October 20, 2023.
The suspect, known as ‘Daniel,’ was found in possession of a bag filled with stolen food items that he had taken from Block B, room 19, at the Jubril Aminu Hall of Residence.
During the course of questioning, he initially claimed to be a 100-Level student in the Biological Science Department, stating that he was returning from home. However, security personnel asserted that he was the same individual who had allegedly broken into rooms in Blocks C and D two weeks earlier. The bag he had stolen from those rooms was discovered in his possession, and he did not deny it.
Regrettably, the suspect managed to escape the scene, evading capture.
Currently, an investigation is underway regarding his case.
