A tragic auto accident in Osun results in the loss of seven lives and leaves three others injured.

A tragic accident claimed the lives of seven commuters at the Ogidi village section of the Osogbo/Gbongan Road in Osun State on Saturday, October 21.

The accident involved an ash-colored Nissan Sharon car with the registration number WWD57AE. According to an eyewitness, the driver of the vehicle, who was traveling from Osogbo to Odeomu, was driving at a high speed, lost control, and veered into a ditch.

The Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Osun State, Henry Benamaisai, confirmed the incident and reported that ten individuals were involved in the accident.

“The injured victims were promptly transported to the Osun State University Teaching Hospital in Osogbo, while the deceased have been taken to the hospital’s morgue,” he stated.

He also mentioned that the Nigeria Police Force worked alongside FRSC officials in managing the situation.

Furthermore, two bags containing clothes were retrieved from the accident scene.

The FRSC chief emphasized the importance of safe driving practices and adhering to traffic regulations as vital measures to prevent road accidents that result in the loss of lives and property.
