Suspected gunmen have seized a 60-year-old farmer known as Kayode Ajayi and his daughter in Kwara State.
The incident occurred while they were returning from their farm in Afon, located in the Asa Local Government Area of the state, during the evening of Monday, September 18, 2023. SP Ajayi Okasanmi, the spokesperson for the state Police Command, confirmed the abduction on Tuesday and stated that the daughter has already been safely rescued.
“However, efforts are underway to secure the father’s release,” the PPRO remarked. “Our anti-kidnapping unit from the State Police Command is actively engaged in the search for Mr. Kayode Ajayi, and we are optimistic that he will be freed in the near future,” he further assured.
