The 13-year-old boy, Adebola Akin-Bright, who had reportedly experienced the loss of his small intestine following treatment at both the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) and Obitoks Medical Centre, a private hospital, has tragically passed away.

According to family sources, young Adebola developed severe complications on the evening of Tuesday, September 19, and was urgently admitted to the intensive care unit at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, where he was subsequently declared deceased.

Earlier on the same day, the Lagos State House of Assembly had called upon Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to instruct the Ministry of Health to allocate funds for Adebola’s overseas medical treatment.

Adebola’s distressing situation had gained public attention when his mother took to social media to implore the Governor to investigate the mysterious disappearance of her son’s intestine. After her video garnered widespread attention, the Governor visited Adebola at his hospital bedside and pledged to do everything possible to restore the boy’s health.
