Bandits kill Zamfara health educator, abduct four children and others

Suspected bandits have killed a health educator, Lawali Musa Moriki, and abducted his four children during an attack in the Sanyawa area of Moriki District, Zurmi Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

The incident reportedly occurred around 1:00 a.m. on February 10, 2026.

According to security analyst Zagazola Mkama, the gunmen shot Moriki dead before abducting several residents, including his four children, two men, and two women, taking them to an undisclosed location.

Security personnel were immediately deployed to the area in response to the attack.

The victim’s body was later evacuated to the General Hospital in Moriki for an autopsy.

Authorities have launched a manhunt for the assailants, with efforts underway to rescue the abducted victims and bring those responsible to justice.
