Suspected bandits have murdered Alhaji Amadu Surajo, the Acting Chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria in Katsina State, at Mai Rana village, Kusada Local Government Area.
The attack occurred on the night of Saturday, January 4, 2025, when the gunmen also killed three others and left several more injured. In addition to the killings, the bandits abducted Surajo’s two wives and one of his daughters, an undergraduate at a public university in the country.
A source close to the situation, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, revealed that Surajo’s first wife was later released by the bandits.
The Katsina State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Abubakar Sadiq, confirmed the incident on Sunday, stating, “The DPO informed me that the incident happened last night.”
Dr. Nasir Mu’azu, the Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs, also confirmed Surajo’s death, saying, “Yes, he was killed yesterday by the bandits.”
The bodies of Surajo and the other victims are expected to be buried on Sunday morning according to Islamic rites, while the injured individuals are receiving medical treatment.
