Portuguese star Bernardo Silva is reportedly set to leave Manchester City as a free agent, with Juventus and Barcelona leading the race for his signature.
According to respected journalist Fabrizio Romano, the midfielder has decided against signing a new contract, with his current deal due to expire on June 30.
Silva, who will turn 32 in August, remains in top condition and is expected to continue playing at a high level for several more years.
The attacking midfielder has attracted interest from clubs across Europe, as well as teams in Saudi Arabia and Major League Soccer. However, he is taking his time to consider his options, choosing to stay focused on Manchester City’s season before deciding on his next move.
Silva joined City in 2017 from Monaco in a €50 million transfer and has since made 449 appearances, recording 76 goals and 77 assists. During his time at the club, he has won 16 trophies, including six Premier League titles and the UEFA Champions League.
Barcelona is said to be his preferred destination, while his agent, Jorge Mendes, continues to explore opportunities across Europe. Atletico Madrid, Juventus, and Napoli are also reportedly keeping close tabs on his situation.
