Popular DJ Iwuagwu Ebere, also known as Commissioner DJ Wysei, has been remanded in Kirikiri Correctional Center until May 8.

Ebere visited the police in Elemoro, Ajah on Monday, April 15, to report a man who allegedly defrauded her. The man was arrested on the same day and has since been in police custody.

According to police sources, DJ Wysei was invited on Wednesday, April 17, to determine if she wanted the suspect charged to court or released on bail, as detaining an accused for over 48 hours is unlawful.

Allegedly, DJ Wysei insisted on recording an apology from the accused, which he refused. Consequently, the police decided to take the matter to court since both parties were unyielding.

Reportedly, as officers were about to transport the accused to court, DJ Wysei used her vehicle to block the station entrance and assaulted female officers handling the case. Consequently, she was arrested for obstructing police duty, resisting arrest, and assaulting officers. She was then taken to the Magistrate court in Eti-Osa and arraigned for these charges.

Providing an update, the spokesperson of the state police command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, announced that DJ Wysei has been remanded in Kirikiri correctional facility until May 8, 2024. Additionally, her bouncers, who allegedly aided and abetted her, were remanded in Ikoyi correctional facility.
