Cross River Tourism Commissioner Passes Away After Attending Exco Meeting

The Cross River State Commissioner for Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Robert Ewa, has passed away.

According to a report by Channels TV, Ewa died on the evening of Wednesday, January 8, at Arubah Specialist Hospital in Calabar, shortly after attending the state executive council meeting.

“As of the time of filing this report, members of the Cross River State Executive Council and other aides of Governor Bassey Otu have gathered at the hospital to mourn with the deceased’s family. He was present at the executive council meeting earlier on Wednesday, which was presided over by Governor Otu,” the report stated.

Ewa had previously served as Secretary and later Chairman of the Boki Local Government Council. He also held positions as Special Adviser on Community Relations and Secretary of the Anti-Deforestation Task Force.

As of this report, the state government had yet to issue an official statement regarding the commissioner’s death.
