A Nigerian footballer named Ado Hadi, who played for CD Madridejos in Spain’s Terceira division, passed away during a match against SP Cabanillas on Sunday.
According to a statement by the Castilla-La Mancha Football Federation, Hadi suddenly collapsed in the 39th minute of the game, with no apparent cause. Despite the efforts of the medical team, Hadi could not be revived and was declared dead shortly after.
The Castilla-La Mancha Football Federation expressed their deep sadness and offered their support to CD Madridejos during this difficult time. Ado Hadi was 21 years old and had previously played for Jigawa Golden Stars in Nigeria. He was one of four Nigerian players on the team at CD Madridejos.
