N1,000 Paid for One Liter: Oshiomhole Expresses Regret Over Fuel Shortage and Price Increase

Adams Oshiomhole, a former governor of Edo State, has expressed his disappointment over the shortage of fuel and the increase in its pump price. He stated that he recently purchased a liter of fuel for N1,000 during one of his campaign tours. The scarcity of fuel and the high prices have affected not only the general public, but also influential individuals like Oshiomhole.

Despite Nigeria’s expenditure of almost N7 trillion on fuel subsidies, the product remains scarce and unaffordable for most Nigerians. The former national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) pointed out the responsibility for this issue. He acknowledged that fuel scarcity is not exclusive to President Muhammadu Buhari’s government, but rather a persistent problem in the country.

Oshiomhole also discussed the recent naira note redesign and swap policy and referred to them as deceptive tactics aimed at disrupting the upcoming elections. He claimed that the intention of the bank behind these policies is not to eliminate corruption, but to prevent the elections from taking place.
