Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has reiterated his administration’s dedication to stabilizing governance and revitalizing the state’s economy amid ongoing political challenges and economic pressures.

In a statement released through his Chief Press Secretary, Nelson Chukwudi, to mark the Eid-al-Adha celebration, Fubara urged Muslims in Rivers and beyond to reflect on the values of sacrifice, obedience, and faith.

The governor acknowledged the sacrifices made by the people of Rivers State and recognized that many aspirations remain unfulfilled due to political tensions. Nevertheless, he emphasized that progress is being made.

“He assured citizens that concrete steps are underway to restore stable governance and boost the economy, pledging to address their concerns with practical solutions,” the statement said. “He called for continued prayers for peace and development in Rivers State, reaffirming his administration’s firm commitment to safeguarding the lives and welfare of all residents.”

Fubara concluded by wishing Muslim faithful a joyful and spiritually fulfilling Eid celebration.

Notably, President Bola Tinubu suspended Fubara as governor on March 18 and declared a state of emergency in Rivers State following a prolonged political crisis and attacks on oil infrastructure.
