Former Governor of Kaduna State, Alhaji Muktar Ramalan Yero, has officially departed from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). Yero communicated his decision through a letter dated September 30, which was addressed to the Ward Chairman of PDP in Kaura, Zaria Local Government Area of the state. The letter stated:

“I am writing to express my heartfelt greetings and to formally announce my departure from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). Therefore, I hereby submit my resignation as a member of the People’s Democratic Party, effective as of September 30, 2023. Enclosed with this letter is my party membership card, which I am returning.”

Yero, who also holds the title of Dallatun Zazzau, previously served as the deputy governor to the late Governor Patrick Yakowa, who tragically lost his life in an air crash. Subsequently, Yero assumed the role of Kaduna State Governor from December 15, 2012, to May 29, 2015.
