The Edo State Police Command has apprehended Blessing Ogunu for orchestrating her own kidnapping. According to the command’s spokesperson, Chidi Nwabuzor, Ogunu, who works for a real estate company, demanded a ransom of N4.8 million for her release. She collaborated with two other individuals, Esther Anthony and Ukpebor Joel, to stage the abduction.
Upon investigation, Ogunu confessed to planning the fake kidnapping because her company failed to allocate land to a customer who had already paid for it. The Anti-Kidnapping and Cyber Crime Unit received a complaint from Samuel Prince Omomuzo, prompting the arrest of Ogunu, Anthony, and Joel.
The suspects are set to face legal proceedings for their involvement in the deception.
