Kris Jenner’s sister, Karen Houghton, has passed away.
Sources from law enforcement reported Karen’s death to San Diego County officials on Monday, March 18, in San Marcos, California. The exact circumstances surrounding her passing remain unclear, but county officials are currently attributing her death to natural causes.
Karen, Kris Jenner’s only sister, was born three years after the famous momager. They grew up together in San Diego, predominantly under the care of their mother MJ following her divorce from their father, Robert Houghton.
This marks MJ’s first loss of a child, and the Kardashian-Jenner family is coming together to support each other. Kris took to social media to express her grief over Karen’s death, sharing throwback photos of them together.
In her heartfelt message, Kris wrote: “It is with the heaviest heart and deepest sadness that I share that my sister Karen passed away yesterday unexpectedly. My heart aches for my mom MJ and my niece Natalie, and I pray that God guides us all through this difficult time.”
She continued to describe Karen as beautiful both inside and out, highlighting her kindness, sensitivity, and sense of humor. Kris emphasized the importance of cherishing loved ones and expressing love, stating that Karen’s passing serves as a reminder of life’s preciousness.
Karen leaves behind her daughter, whom she shared with her ex-husband Mark Zettel, as well as her mother, sister, several nieces, and a nephew. She was 65 years old.
