
A suspected kidnapper has been arrested by the Delta State Police Command after he collected a ransom and released his female victim.
In a statement issued on Monday, March 17, 2025, the police spokesperson, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed that the suspect, Abdulahi Isah, was apprehended in a bush five days after abducting the woman in Ibusa, a community in the Oshimili North Local Government Area of the state.
According to the statement, on March 12, 2025, a resident of Ibusa (name withheld) reported to the Ibusa Police Station that his friend’s wife had been kidnapped on March 7, 2025. He also revealed that he had personally delivered the ransom and food items to the kidnappers.
Following this information, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ibusa Police Station quickly mobilized a patrol team, with the assistance of local vigilantes, to search the bush where the suspect was located and arrested.
The suspect is currently in custody, and the investigation is ongoing.
