Police neutralize three bandits following the kidnapping and murder of a traditional ruler in Benue

The Benue Head of Mbajiir in Tongov, Katsina-Ala Zaki Sughter Agenbeer, from his home in Une Tongov community.

According to reports, the attackers took the victim into the bush and killed him, accusing him of providing information about their activities to security agencies.

The DPO of Katsina-Ala, in coordination with the DPO of Ukum, mobilized patrol teams and tactical units to the scene. Police operatives later engaged the bandits in a firefight, resulting in three suspects being neutralized.

The body of the slain traditional ruler was recovered and deposited at the Zaki-Biam Hospital mortuary, while security forces have launched a combing operation in nearby bushes to apprehend other fleeing suspects.
