Just like our model, Oyo state governor Engr. Seyi Makinde, as a movement, we believe that the girl-child is as important as the boy-child. And it is our belief that we must tolerate no form of discrimination against either of the two sexes.
And, it is based on the foregoing that we as a movement calls on members of the public most especially girls within the age bracket of 13 – 18 across primary, secondary and tertiary institutions in the State to take part in an essay competition with the theme “My Voice, Our Equal Future” organised by the movement in commemoration of this year’s International Day of the Girl-child.
For the sake of enlightenment, the International Day of the Girl-child aim at recognising girls’ right and the unique challenges girls face around the world. The day focuses attention on the need to address the challenges girls face and to promote girls’ empowerment and the fulfillment of their human rights. So, as the theme suggested, we want everyone that will take part in the essay competition to let their writing evolve around the theme.
