In the face of the recent fire incident at its embassy in Abuja, the Canadian High Commission has affirmed that its visa application centers in Nigeria will remain operational.

On Thursday, November 9, the Canadian High Commission issued a statement assuring the public that the processing of immigration, refugee, and citizenship applications will continue without disruption.

The statement emphasized:

“As we grieve the loss of our esteemed colleague from the High Commission of Canada in Abuja, please take note of the following information:

“Immigration, Refugee, and Citizenship Canada clients: the processing of applications will proceed as usual. Despite the suspension of operations at the High Commission of Canada in Abuja, the visa application centers in Abuja and Lagos will remain open.”
