Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, has revealed that President Bola Tinubu has instructed cement companies in Nigeria to return to their previous pricing structure.
Speaking to journalists in Sokoto on Thursday, February 29, Umahi shared that Tinubu issued the directive to support his extensive housing program and concrete road initiative.
Umahi emphasized:
“I urge them to adhere to Mr. President’s directive so we can fulfill the objectives of our comprehensive housing program and the President’s vision for concrete road infrastructure.”
“I’m here to witness firsthand. As you’re aware, the federal government is currently undertaking 372 kilometers of dual carriageway roads. The first phase will utilize asphalt, while the secondary phase will employ concrete.”
“Calculating the 372 kilometers, which will be dual carriageway, will amount to a total of 744 kilometers. The second phase, comprising 372 kilometers, will be constructed entirely using concrete, aligning with the President’s renewed hope agenda.”
