Unknown assailants have abducted a mother and her three children in Kwara state, demanding a ransom of N100 million for their release.

Gunmen have carried out a kidnapping in the Ajelete community, Agunjin district, within Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State. The chairman of the Transition Implementation Committee (TIC) for the council area, Jide Asonibare, confirmed this incident on Tuesday, September 26.

According to Asonibare, the victims, a mother and her three children, were abducted around 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 24. The assailants arrived in the community and unleashed a hail of gunfire before forcibly taking the victims from their residence and leading them into the nearby forest.

Furthermore, Asonibare revealed that the kidnappers have contacted the family, demanding a ransom of N100 million. Law enforcement agencies, including the police and the Army in both Kwara and neighboring Kogi states, have been alerted to the situation. A search party comprising fifteen vigilante members is actively scouring the bushes, although progress in locating the victims has not yet been achieved.

“The kidnappers have contacted the family demanding N100 million ransom,” Asonibare added.
