Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have tragically killed a middle-aged man, Sule Gwamnati, and abducted his wife, Blessing, in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Reports indicate that Gwamnati was fatally shot by the assailants who attacked their family home in the early hours of Friday, February 16, 2024.
Despite being rushed to a hospital in Jos for urgent medical attention, Gwamnati succumbed to his injuries and passed away a few hours after arrival.
A distressed relative of the wife, Luther Dafwang, conveyed the harrowing incident in a message sent to members of the Assemblies of God Church in Jos on Friday, pleading for prayers and assistance in locating Blessing.
Confirming the attack, the Chairman of Community Peace Observers in Bokkos, Kefas Mallai, expressed sorrow over the tragic event. He disclosed that Sule Gwamnati was shot twice by the criminals who also abducted his wife, Blessing Sule.
Mallai further revealed that the incident had been reported to security authorities in Bokkos, who assured the community that investigations were underway to apprehend the perpetrators and secure the release of Blessing.
