
The Ekiti State Police Command has arraigned a 33-year-old man, Fatai Yisa, before the Chief Magistrate Court in Ado-Ekiti for allegedly stealing 1,570 bags of sachet water.
According to the prosecutor, Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, the defendant—who worked as a sales boy at a factory—allegedly committed the offence between January and June 10, 2025. The stolen water, valued at ₦549,500, reportedly belonged to one Oluwa Tobi Opeyemi.
Inspector Oriyomi stated that the offence contravenes Section 302 of the Ekiti State Criminal Law, 2021.
Yisa pleaded not guilty to the charge. His counsel, Barrister Opeyemi Esan, requested bail, which was granted by Chief Magistrate Abayomi Adeosun in the sum of ₦100,000 with two sureties in like amount. The case was adjourned until July 10 for further hearing.
