On Monday, October 23, New Orleans Saints’ standout Chris Olave found himself in the custody of law enforcement authorities.
Sources revealed to TMZ Sport that his arrest was the result of alleged reckless driving on a street in Louisiana. The Kenner Police Department reported that the 23-year-old wide receiver was apprehended shortly after 9 PM and was subsequently released at 11:30 PM.
A spokesperson for the Kenner Police Department explained that Olave was arrested and charged with reckless operation of a motor vehicle. This charge stemmed from allegations that he was traveling at a speed of 70 MPH in a 35 MPH zone, specifically in a mixed business and residential area where residents had previously expressed concerns about speeding.
In addition to excessive speed, Olave was reportedly engaged in “reckless lane changes and weaving between other drivers on the road.”
Notably, Chris Olave has been a prominent receiver for the New Orleans Saints this season, having registered 39 receptions for 471 yards and a touchdown.
