Ola Olukoyede, the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has issued a directive to all Commission staff members, instructing them to declare their assets.

During a meeting at the EFCC headquarters in Abuja on Tuesday, October 24, Olukoyede emphasized that this action aligns with civil service regulations and procedures. He emphasized that the fight against corruption necessitates the utmost transparency and integrity from those leading the charge.

The EFCC Chairman stated, “All of us, from level 17 downwards, are required to declare our assets. I have already submitted my declaration, so there’s no reason for anyone to hesitate. Even the Commission Secretary has complied, and it’s possible that many of you have done so in the past. However, there’s a renewed need for all of us to declare our assets. We will make our asset declarations, and these will be subject to investigation. As anti-corruption champions, it is crucial for us to maintain the highest standards by setting a positive example.”

“In our roles as fighters against corruption, it is imperative that our hands remain untarnished, and therefore, we must declare our assets,” he added.
