The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) operatives have apprehended a well-known drug dealer, 45-year-old Godwin Emuneyin, who, despite being physically challenged and using a wheelchair, exploited it as a disguise for dealing in illicit substances such as methamphetamine and cannabis in Afuze, the headquarters of Owan East local government area in Edo state.
The arrest, carried out on Tuesday, November 7, at his base in Afuze, resulted from credible intelligence. According to Femi Babafemi, the agency’s spokesperson, at the time of the arrest, a wooden box containing illicit substances, including 18 pinches of methamphetamine, one block, and 71 wraps of cannabis, was seized from the suspect.
Additionally, in other interdiction operations in Edo state, NDLEA operatives on Monday, November 6, recovered 42 bags of cannabis weighing 480 kilograms from a camp in Aviosi forest in Owan West LGA. Simultaneously, the Utese forest in Ovia North East LGA was raided on the same day, leading to the recovery of 231.5 kilograms of the substance and the destruction of a cannabis farm measuring 0.778960 hectares.
