A member of the Nigerian army, identified as Boyi Thankgod, has reportedly taken his own life at an army barracks in Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun state.
Thankgod, who was assigned to the 35 Artillery Brigade, Alamala in Abeokuta, allegedly shot himself in the head while on standby duty for Armed Forces Remembrance Day. The incident, which transpired on Monday, January 15, is currently under investigation to ascertain the circumstances that led to this tragic event.
