NAFDAC enforcement officers, in collaboration with intelligence provided by the Nigerian Army’s 15 Field Engineering Regiment in Badagry, have dismantled the operations of Mr. Chinedu Okafor, an illegal drinks manufacturer operating from his residence at No. 24, MTN Road, Badagry.

According to a statement from NAFDAC, Okafor’s suspicious activities drew the attention of the Nigerian Army, resulting in his arrest and subsequent handover to NAFDAC officers at the Ports Inspection Directorate, Seme Border. Following inspection, officers confiscated all equipment and materials used in the production of illicit drinks, effectively shutting down the unlawful factory.

Investigations revealed Okafor’s extensive involvement in this illicit activity, which posed a potential threat to regulated alcohol drinks in the Badagry area.

NAFDAC stated that Okafor will be prosecuted, and all offending products will be destroyed, with an estimated value exceeding fifty million naira (₦50,000,000).
