Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, has said that substandard petrol products imported into Nigeria are responsible for the damages many cars have suffered across the country.
While speaking at an event recently, Dangote who is currently at loggerheads with regulatory bodies over the operations of his private refinery, stated that he stands by his earlier comments that substandard products were being imported into the country
‘’Most of you had or are still having problems with your vehicles. It is because of the bad fuel being imported into the country. I still stand by what I said. I still stand by what I said. Go to filling stations, pick up and check the quality. That is the only way.
It is not all this one that somebody will bring in a ship and say this is the quality, bringing fake certificate.” he said
He said as time progresses he will say more so Nigerians can know where to put the blame.
‘’Some of the terminals, NNPC people and traders have opened a blending plant somewhere off Malta. We all know these areas. We know what they are doing, is not that we don’t know.”
He went on to state that he is fearless and that he fears no one.
‘’I have been fighting all my life and then somebody will now say ‘Mr Dangote, I heard that some people came to your hotel to ask for your name and you don’t know who they are and I said ‘Yes they did. Look, I am a very fearless person and I believe so much in God. I do not fear anybody. They can do all that they want. I am not scared. I will fight head-on.’’
