President Bola Tinubu held his first meeting with the newly appointed Service Chiefs on Monday, October 27, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The Service Chiefs arrived around 3:55 p.m., led by the new Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede, who previously served as Chief of Army Staff.
Last week, President Tinubu announced a major shake-up of the military leadership, appointing General Oluyede to succeed General Christopher Musa as Chief of Defence Staff. The changes also included Major General W. Shaibu as Chief of Army Staff, Air Vice Marshal S. K. Aneke as Chief of Air Staff, and Rear Admiral I. Abbas as Chief of Naval Staff. Major General E. A. P. Undiendeye retained his position as Chief of Defence Intelligence.
In announcing the appointments, the President urged the new Service Chiefs to justify the confidence placed in them by promoting professionalism, vigilance, and unity within the Armed Forces.
